SnowShoeMag.com – Featuring Osprey FW 12 at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market – January 23, 2012

January 23rd, 2012

Osprey’s focus this coming year is to reintroduce their travel line which features clean lines and their trademark organization options. They also lightened up their Kestrel pack, which reigns supreme in the realm of ‘quiver of one pack’ in your hall closet.

Additionally, Osprey is rolling out a few new options including a series called Synchro. This pack will give ventilation across the back in the form of a hydration pack. A simple hip belt will keep it in place. Seems Osprey had the bike commuter in mind when they created the Synchro. They will be introducing the Carve, their next foray into a backcountry ski pack. It will come in three torso sizing options and include an insulated hydration sleeve, an external carry of the shovel handle with probe while the shovel blade gets stored inside, a diagonal ski carry, and Osprey’s signature organization. http://www.ospreypacks.com/.

Examiner.com – Featuring Osprey’s Support of Minneapolis Panjshir Tour – September 1st, 2011

September 18th, 2011

From my own involvement with the Minneapolis Panjshir Tour coming up October 8th, I’m seeing first-hand that companies do in fact have a conscience and their generosity goes epic distances. Osprey, LIN socks, Vasque, Overland Equipment, Aircraft Demolition, Polar Bottle and Timbuk2 all believe enough in a cause to sponsor a bike ride that benefits women and children in Afghanistan (if you ride a bike, your muscles and sweat equity are both needed and appreciated!).

So to companies like, Osprey LIN socks, Vasque, Overland Equipment, Aircraft Demolition, Polar Bottle and Timbuk2, I thank you again for coming on board to support the inaugural Minneapolis Panjshir Tour. To Sierra Designs, Terramar, Clif Bar, Manzella, Sierra Trading Post, Outdoor Research, Sole, Chaco, Merrell, and FRS, I thank you, and countless others thank you, for always keeping your radars open and on.

Outdoor Industry News – Osprey Packs Makes the Cut for Outside Magazine’s “Best Places to Work” List for Fourth Consecutive Year – August 12, 2011

September 3rd, 2011

Osprey Packs, Inc., a leader in creating top-quality, high-performance, innovative packs to comfortably and efficiently carry gear, today was named to Outside magazine’s fourth annual “Best Places to Work” list. Osprey was ranked number 29 out of 50 selected companies, and is one of only five companies to be chosen every year of the award. The full list and related story will be published in the September issue of Outside magazine, available on newsstands on August 16, 2011.

Outside’s “Best Places to Work” project celebrates the innovative companies setting a new standard for a healthy work-life balance. The list was compiled with the help of the Outdoor Industry Association and Best Companies Group. The year-long selection process began with an outreach effort that identified a wide range of non-profit and for-profit organizations with at least 15 employees working in the United States. Participating companies were then sent confidential employee-satisfaction surveys and employer-questionnaires to collect information about benefits, compensation, policies, job satisfaction, environmental initiatives, and community outreach programs.

Outdoor Industry News – Outdoor Retailer Upbeat and Setting Records Despite Market Turmoil – August 10th, 2011

August 26th, 2011

At our Thursday and Friday night dinners we toasted our guests and
said that despite the market being down 500 points we have a lot to be
happy for,” said Tom Barney, member of the OIA Board of Directors and
CEO for Osprey Packs, which has added 13 employees this year to
support its growth. “We almost matched our total Spring/Summer 2011
business before the show. We heard more news of store expansions than
we have at any show. We are in growth mode.
