I have to admit that I have a love affair with Osprey packs. Since starting Benosh with my friend Josh, we have gotten to try out a few of Osprey’s offerings. I believe that they are the ones within the market that puts perhaps the most time in on developing a pack with multi-purpose potential purpose–and the uses no one could foresee.
When prepping for some business travel a couple weeks back, I had to grab a new bag for my laptop. I am VERY particular in my search for the ultimate work/laptop pack. I made my way to Backwoods here in Tulsa looking for an Osprey FlapJack commuter bag, but wanted to see if it would be sung on my 15″ Macbook Pro or if it would be too big. Upon arriving, I found that they didn’t have any, bu in looking at what they did have in stock, I found my new love, Osprey’s Axis.

What would your answer be to this question? “Do you have the latest Osprey pack?” The obvious answer is, “No, but I’d like to!”
This is the way we got Osprey’s new Viper 13, a slim and efficient pack perfect for mountain biking, quick hikes, and a wide variety of other outdoor adventures where you need a modest amount of storage and three liters of water. The Viper 13 is a good-looking bag, which is typical of Osprey; and with its small size and usability, it has already gotten a lot of use. I am repeatedly reminded that Osprey’s magnetic bite valve is the best interpretation of the magnetic locking feature among hydration packs. While other manufacturers have taken a stab at keeping the bite valve in a useful position using clips or magnets, Osprey outdoes them all.

Viper 13
Usually when you get a “free” item with a purchase–lets be honest here–it’s crap. At the very best it’s something great in concept, but lackluster in holding up to actual use. Much to my surprise, a Benosh favorite, Backwoods, is offering a FREE Osprey Halo day pack with any in store purchase of $99 or more, online $90 on one item.
