Ideally you never have to check luggage. But when you suddenly get the chance to fly to Chile to climb and then Argentina to ski, you’re going to go. And then you’re going to check luggage. And what you shouldn’t bring is a rolling, hard piece of useless dead furniture, which is what wheeled luggage becomes when it meets streets made of dirt.
